The goals and objectives of a Public Entity Insurance program, ("Insurance Pool" or "JIF" as they are commonly known), are straight forward ... providing comprehensive insurance coverages at the lowest possible cost to the taxpayers of your community, while providing a full range of risk management and customer service options to the member municipalities as well as the opportunity for hands on involvement in guiding the success of the fund, where all participants share ownership.

The actual operations of pools can be quite complex, however. Unlike private insurance companies, where the many professionals involved, such as actuaries, brokers, auditors, risk managers, adjusters, defense counsel, corporate counsel, safety engineers, finance officers, and others are often employees of the company, in Public Entity Insurance each of these areas of expertise, many of which require specialized licensing, are often filled by individuals who provide services to the Fund as independent contractors. As such the administration and coordination of all of these professionals is key to the successful operation of the fund.

With over 15 years of experience as Executive Board Member and Chairman of the North Jersey Intergovernmental Insurance Fund combined with over 30 years experience as a Municipal Administrator, Clerk and Engineer I can bring a unique and comprehensive set of skills and experience to help review the feasibility of establsihing a Public Entity Insurance Fund or an in house self insurance program.
